The Sheraton Gateway Hotel
in Atlanta, GA is located at 1900 Sullivan Road,
Atlanta, GA 30337. The toll free number for
reservations is 1-800-784-9400. The Sheraton
Gateway is located approximately 1/2 mile from
the airport and has free shuttle service to and
from the airport. The hotel has an indoor heated
pool plus an outside pool. It also has a nice
restaurant and offers room service. The Sheraton
Gateway is located just minutes away from
several exciting attractions including Six Flags
Over Georgia, Zoo Atlanta, plus many more.
Please book your rooms early because hotels in
Atlanta do tend to book up quickly. The Sheraton
has blocked off just a certain number of rooms
until September 24th. The special rate for
Southern Beauties & Beaus is $94.00 plus tax per
night for a double room. Be sure and tell them
that you are with the pageant in order to get
this special room rate. Rooms will be held until
September 24th, after that time you may not get
a room and the rates could go up. Should you
have any problem, please call me. |
| ROYALTY
GIFTS: Honoring returning royalty is
very important to Southern Beauties & Beaus. We
are making it easy for you to honor our
returning royalty. Since it is obvious that not
everyone is always able to come back and crown,
this year, we are only asking each contestant to
bring SIX $5.00 bills instead of nine. (This is
for the queens/kings in your age division and
for the overalls in your breakdown). If the
returning contestant is a queen, they will get
$5.00 from everyone in their group and if they
are a returning Overall Winner, they will get
$5.00 from everyone in their breakdown. Please
put the $5.00 bills in one envelope and put your
child’s name and age division on the envelope.
You must turn this in when you register. We are
going to make each returning royalty their own
special MONEY TREE. If you usually spend around
$7.00 per gift plus the gift bags, this will
save you money and time. I really think the
royalty will like getting this gift as it will
be different and they can buy themselves
something special with the money or use it
toward their expenses on returning to crown. I
plan to give all returning royalty a
BUILD-A-BEAR. Just think, it might be you next
year receiving your own special money tree!!! |
EARLY TRICK OR TREAT FUN AT THE HOTEL
Since the pageant falls close to
Halloween, the kids can bring their costume (no
real scary costumes please) to the pageant for
some early trick or treating. This is how it
works. I am asking contestants who wish to
participate in this to bring some candy or
souvenirs such as pencils, good luck notes,
trinkets from your state, grab bags, etc. to the
pageant to give out to the other contestants.
When you register for the pageant, I will give
everyone who wishes to participate a special
orange pumpkin to tape to their hotel door.
Starting at 7:00 PM, contestants accompanied by
a chaperone can go floor to floor trick or
treating. If the door has a pumpkin taped to it,
then you will know they are participating.
Someone will need to stay in each room to give
out the goodies they brought. It is not
mandatory that you participate in this. I just
thought it would be fun for the kids. We have
done this at our previous pageants & the
children really seem to get some special treats.
Since the older contestants (8-up) will be
competing at this time, you may want to leave
your pumpkin on your door so that these
contestants can come by after their competition. |
RULES & REGULATIONS

Cameras and video cameras will not
be permitted in competition area as we will have
professionals to video & take pictures. |

You must be entered in Beauty in
order to compete in any other events. |

All judge’s decisions are final
and the judges have the right to break any ties.
Any act of unsportsmanship conduct or falsified
information could result in disqualification
without refund. Scores will be given out after
crowning. |

Birth certificates must be shown
if contestant’s age is questioned. You may
compete the age your are as of 3-1-10. |

|
Names of contestants or how many
has entered in each age division will not be
given out. Please do not ask. We usually run
approximately 6-12 contestants in an age
division but this is something that we are never
sure of and can change all the way up until the
pageant. |

If for any reason the pageant
has to be canceled (which is highly unlikely)
ALL ENTRY FEES will be REFUNDED immediately. |

|
All Savings Bond money is
GUARANTEED. Contestants who win a bond may
choose the cash equivalent of the bond. |

|
Numbers will be assigned on a
first come first served basis. The first to come
in with their deposit will go out last unless
you specify differently. We cannot guarantee
anyone a particular place in line, however, we
will do our best to honor your favorite place in
line-up. If you are wanting a particular place
in line, you need to get your entry in early. It
really doesn’t matter in our pageants, how you
come out in line. Everyone is judged fairly and
the utmost attention is given to everyone. |

Entries that come in without a
deposit or less than a $200.00 deposit, will not
be assigned a number until full deposit is sent. |

No refunds or credits will be
given. Please do not ask. |

No checks will be accepted after
September 24, 2010. Cash or money order only
after this date & at the door. |

We are not responsible for any act
of nature that might result in having to
postpone competition because of a power outage,
etc. We will do our best to accommodate the
situation if something unforeseen was to happen. |

All contestants are required to
bring six $5.00 bills to the pageant (this has
been lowered from nine last year) to be used to
make money trees to give to the 2009 Royalty.
Please put bills in one envelope with your
child’s name & age division on the envelope and
turn in when you register. |

Supremes, & Grand Supremes cannot
recompete the year they are reigning but are
asked to please come back & crown. The remaining
royalty have the choice of recompeting or
crowning. |

If you win Novice Queen/King,
Beauty Queen/King, Supreme Queen/King, Beauty
Supreme, Living Doll Supreme, Mini Supreme Level
1, 2, 3, Supreme, or Grand Supreme it is
required that you stay for group & individual
pictures and that pictures and videos may be
used for advertisement purposes. You can’t
collect your money until you have your picture
made. |

If you do not think you will be able to register on Friday, please call two
weeks before pageant to find out how to register by mail. The Director
reserves the right to alter competition or crowning time in the event the
pageant is larger or smaller than expected.
